The affairs of the Union is headed by the Oyendu. The Oyendu possess the quality of good leadership. He takes control and co-ordinates other members of the Executive as well as the general house.
Dr Victor Utti is a respected personality. He was recently unanimously re-elected as the President/Oyendu of Igbo Union Essex and Suffolk. He has been re-elected for another 2 year manadate starting 29/06/2025
The Oyendu is focused, organised, and runs the affairs of the Union without fear or favour. He chairs the Executive board as well as the general assembly. Though he reserves the right to appoint any member of the house to chair any gathering. The Oyendu is deputised by the Osote Oyendu. The Oyendu leads the executive committee.
The Osote Oyendu is the vice president and helps to co-ordinate activities in the absence of the Oyendu. The current Osote Oyendu Mrs Mary Osadebe is a seasoned administration with excellent leadership skills. Her personal and professional skills have produced positive direction for our association. Mrs Mary Osadebe has been elected for a 2 year term starting 29/06/2025
The union Secretary Mazi Conrad Umeh is a dedicated, respected leader. He is responsible for the writing of minutes of all meetings whether on Executive or in a general Assembly level. He keeps and maintain all official records concerning the Union.
Mazi Conrad Umeh is excellently conversant with the rules and regulation at all time and reads and interpret such rule when the need arises. The Secretary summons meetings or gatherings of any such with directives coming from the Oyendu or the Osote Oyendu. In absence of both the Oyendu or the Osote Oyendu, the Secretary takes the podium to chair the meeting. In absence of the Secretary, the Financial Secretary will act in taking the minutes of the meeting. The Secretary is a committed member as he is the eye of the Union. The success of the union largely rests on the input of the Secretary.
Appointed to Office
The treasurer of the Union Mrs Kate Ogbunuju is a respected member of the union. She collects cash collected on behalf of the association by the financial secretary and deposit such cash/monies into the bank account of the association. She has maintain ed good record book, where all financial matters are entered for reference purposes when needed. Mrs Kate Ogbunuju keeps records of receipts of all purchases, record all dues received, payments made as well as fines collected, or any other monies received or levied for whatever purpose(s). The treasurer is accountable to the Oyendu and the general assembly on the financial position of the Union. She presents to the house at any meeting the statement of accounts from the bank to the Union. Three weeks to the end of the years general meeting, the treasurer in collaboration with the Financial Secretary prepare the record book for the Auditor for clarifications
Mrs Nonye Ezeani is a seasoned administrator and financial expert. She runs the financies of Igbo Union Essex and Suffolk.
The financial secretary works fastidiously in collaboration with the Treasurer regardining the finances of the IUES. She is also in-charge of logistics, coordinating, collection, distribution, and volunteer schedules of the IUES.
The Publicity secretary
The director of socials is responsible for all social activities and scheduling events, and training sessions, ensuring smooth operations and a welcoming environment for the Igbo Union Essex and Suffolk (IUES).
The DDS has been appointed
The protocol officer is responsible for keeping orderliness at all IUES meetings and functions. Mr Efobi is a seasoned business man and administrator. Mr Chidi mentors at-risk youth, providing guidance and support to help them stay motivated.
